The VSAT Industry Awards return for a second year on the 18th September 2014 to celebrate the companies and individuals working to drive innovation and accelerate the pace of achievement in the VSAT industry.

We are now accepting entries from 21st May 2014 onwards and the closing date for entries will be 4th August 2014 (EXTENDED DEADLINE).

With a variety of VSAT focused awards categories, the ceremony provides a unique opportunity for your products and services to earn their place in the spotlight!

2014 ENTRY CATEGORIES

Category 1: VSAT Service Provider of the Year

This award is open to VSAT Service Provider companies only. A VSAT Service Provider is defined as an organisation that provides a VSAT communications service directly to the end user market – the business must consist primarily of services aimed at VSAT end users, from any vertical or company type.

Entrants must be able to demonstrate excellence in the delivery of service and support to end user customers, taking into consideration the service providers ability to deliver real benefits to the user organisation, and to meet customer objectives in terms of improved efficiency, ROI, and cost reduction.

Judges will look for:

  • An outline of the company business and qualification of position as a VSAT service provider
  • Demonstration of how these services have helped your VSAT end user clients to achieve their connectivity aims
  • A summary of one particularly successful partner case study from the past year, explaining to the judges why it was such a success, how you helped that partner, and why it should stand out from the competition.
  • Consistent levels of service and customer satisfaction whether those customers are in business-to-business or business-to-consumer relationships
  • Evidence of enhanced business success through relationships with end users of VSAT services

Category 2: VSAT Marketing Campaign of the Year

The VSAT Marketing Campaign of the Year award is open to any company involved in marketing a service or product for the VSAT industry. The awards entry should be a business case of the marketing campaign in question.

Entrants must address the following:

  • How their marketing campaign used a range and combination of media, technologies and platforms to deliver a relevant message to their target audience
  • Catalogue the aims of the campaign within the context of the company’s wider commercial strategy and indicate to what extent each target was achieved. Please include a description of the various parts played in the campaign by each of the teams or organisations involved.

Judges will look for:

  • The most engaging, creative, and innovative use of a combination of channels
  • Demonstration of the effectiveness of the campaign, measured against its original targets
  • Proof of positive change in customer behaviour as a result of the campaign
  • A measurable impact on the bottom line performance, how ROI is proved and the creation of sustainable added value

Entries are actively encouraged to include hard facts and figures – all of which will be kept strictly confidential and used for judging purposes only. All marketing campaigns must have been launched or further developed in 2014 to qualify.

Category 3: VSAT Technology Innovation of the Year

This award will recognise the positive impact of a recently launched technological innovation for the VSAT industry. It is open to any department within an organisation or entire organisation within the VSAT industry that can demonstrate how the development and application of a VSAT technological innovation has enhanced the delivery of VSAT services to the wider community, while evolving the satellite industry beyond its current limits. ‘VSAT Technology’ refers to any component of a VSAT network, both hardware and software.

The judging panel will be looking for evidence of the facilitation or proposed facilitation of a number of the below criteria:

  • Details of the overall contribution that the vendor is making to the business development of the VSAT industry, in terms of the technology development, marketing programme and services and support.
  • Outline the details of your product (briefly) and why you think it stands out from the competition/what you offer the VSAT value chain that is innovative and beneficial
  • Provide an overview of a particularly successful case study from the past year, where the implementation of your technology by a client has resulted in increased network efficiency and customer satisfaction. Explain why it was such a success, including partner comments backing up your case study.

Entries are actively encouraged to include hard facts and figures – all of which will be kept strictly confidential and used for judging purposes only. All technologies must have been new or further developed in 2014 to qualify.

Category 4: The Changing Lives Award

The Changing Lives Award highlights and rewards an inspiring initiative that has significantly impacted telecommunications in a community, assisting in alleviating hardship and contributing to subsequent economic and social development throughout 2014.

Entrants must address the following:

  • What are/were the objectives of the initiative: What type of project is it, who is affected, and what is its long-term impact?
  • What have the results been and how have they been measured?
  • How could the initiative be replicated to benefit other communities/regions?

Category 5: The Rising Star in VSAT Award

This award is open to anyone working in the VSAT industry aged 30 or under on the closing date of Thursday 24th July 2013. This category is free to enter and is aimed at seeking out the best young talent in the VSAT industry. Entries are welcome from candidates with at least three years of relevant VSAT industry experience, who have made significant strides in their professional development over the past year, clearly demonstrating their contribution to the team or department in which he or she works.

Entrants should provide a maximum of 1,000 words outlining their/the nominee’s relevant project experience and personal contribution to key initiatives within their company in 2014, as well as a copy of their CV. All nominations must be made or supported by the person’s departmental manager, but will be accepted from individuals or from their employer.

Shortlisted candidates will be awarded a free all access pass to the VSAT 2014 Conference & Awards and will be expected to conduct a brief filmed interview on site on Wednesday 18th September.

Category 6: The VSAT Lifetime Achievement Award

The VSAT Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates an individual’s career dedication to breaking down borders in the international VSAT industry. This category is free to enter and is aimed at seeking out the finest experienced talent in the VSAT industry. Entrants should provide a maximum of 1,000 words outlining their/the nominee’s relevant project experience and personal contribution to key initiatives within their company in 2014, as well as a copy of their CV.

The winner will meet the following criteria:

  • Has served a minimum of 20 years in the VSAT industry
  • Has made a key contribution to the promotion and growth of the VSAT industry
  • Has been actively involved in the industry over many years and regularly participated in industry associations, shows, conferences, training and leadership roles
  • Has been a high profile industry influencer and motivator
  • Operates on an international scale

No shortlist will be released for this award – the winner will be announced on the night of the VSAT Awards.
